AiSPi goes edunautika special: Challenges
edunautika special: Challenges 28 - 30.11.2025
Winterhude district school (Winterhuder Reformschule) Meerweinstraße 26-28 22303 Hamburg
After the intensive and instructive participation of our students in the challenges of the IGS Landau in the 2025 cycle, we are taking the opportunity of the edunautika barcamp. We will travel to Hamburg with students and lecturers and report on our experiences there. In a separate workshop, we will show how cooperation between school and university can succeed in the context of the challenges.
Challenged!
More and more schools are adopting the simple yet effective idea of challenges: Projects in which students take on a personal, extracurricular challenge for one, two or even three weeks during the school year. Often far away from home and without any of their usual habits. Practical examples include crossing the Alps, canoeing in Sweden, living on a farm, social commitment in a retirement home or preparing for a triathlon.
Schools network!
Naturally, learning and growth take place in the process. (Some students say after their challenge that they have learned more in a few weeks than in the rest of the school year). At the same time, the learning and the organizational form of the challenges are fundamentally different from what we usually practice in schools. The implementation presents not only the students, but also all those involved with a variety of tasks - regardless of whether they are implementing the innovation for the first time or further developing and adapting it. We invite all those involved in such schools to learn from and with each other, exchange their experiences, share best practices and work on concrete development steps.
Learning from and with each other
As a format and organizational umbrella, we are inspired by edunautika, which has established itself as a central meeting on contemporary pedagogy and reform schools in the digital transformation since 2018. At edunautika, participants design the program themselves, based on their individual questions, interests and goals. The participants become contributors. The focus is on the barcamp method, supplemented by stations, a joint evening program and intensive sessions for individual planning.
PS: If you are not yet familiar with edunautika or the Barcamp method, rest assured: this is completely normal! We expect that this applies to a good half of the participants. We will provide a detailed introduction to the method so that we can all work together to learn from and with each other!
The event is recognized by the Pädagogisches Landesinstitut as an advanced training event under the number 25ST033001.
