About

Short Profile

I am an educational scientist specializing in historical topics and postcolonial approaches. As a historical education researcher, I conduct research on modern colonialism and constructions of difference in educational texts. My current research includes studies on 17th-century family correspondence, media frames in the context of flight, childhood, and school in the postwar period, as well as cultures of remembrance. I also work on migration and inequality (gender, class, race/ethnicity). I incorporate intersectional and postcolonial approaches into my teaching, as well as my expertise in the field of anti-racist education. I am a qualified anti-bias trainer and, during my time at the University of Hamburg, I completed further training in DiCoT (Diversity Contexts in Teacher Education) (URL: www.ew.uni-hamburg.de/en/internationales/projekte/dicot.html). In Landau, I obtained the certificate for engagement in teaching (https://www.uni-koblenz-landau.de/de/landau/hda/angl/urku).
