Teaching

Course content

The Department of Intercultural Education offers courses for Bachelor's and Master's students on various education, educational and social science degree programmes. In teaching, it is particularly important to us

  • to open up spaces for reflection on our own entanglements and involvement in racist and (neo)linguistic discourses and practices,
  • to establish self-reflection as a building block of pedagogical professionalism in the migration society by collecting and sharing own experiences,
  • to cultivate and professionalise a diversity-sensitive use of language,
  • support the development of a research-based, diversity-sensitive habitus,
  • to initiate and promote voluntary engagement in the migration society through critical service learning,
  • accompany stays abroad and international exchanges and
  • provide students interested in research with insights into everyday academic working life through internships as well as BA and MA theses in research projects and facilitate transitions.
